How many drummers does it take to raise the
roof? There can never be too many drummers, and the roof is still
strongly attached! Drumming events vary from African and Native American
to Middle Eastern. This picture shows Matthew Marsolek, one of the
famous Drum Brothers, with a few students. Outside drumming classes
are especially fun. |

This earnest artist joins with others every
Friday morn ing for a Life Drawing Class. The atmosphere is peaceful
and contemplative. The scratching of pastels and charcoal accentuates the
meditative music on the stereo. The outcome is a wide array of amazing
pieces, and very happy artists after their morning’s work. |

For over ten years, Common Ground has welcomed
mediation groups ranging from
Vipassana to Zen, some using visualizations,
others slow-walking in the gardens. The ambiance of this one acre
invites slowing down, keen observation and deep appreciation. |

Feel connected the old fashioned way, through
music and dance. This picture captures the
Dances of Universal Peace,
a bimonthly event at the Center. Local leaders and live music bring
elder and youthful dancers into harmony. Outside dances are especially
deep. |

| How many yoga classes can one Center accommodate?
As many as there are teachers to offer them! Currently we have Astanga
Yoga and Hatha Yoga. Our Berber Wool rug offers a warm floor.
The windows look out on wave after wave of flowers in spring, summer and
fall, and birdsong soothes the ears while relaxing in corpse pose. |
